An untamed desire to win as it's been subtitled. Now 50 Cent...does not have the best track record when it comes to discography (or filmography for that matter), his intended debut Power of The Dollar was never released officially by Columbia due to his shooting. However it is easy to find and you can sense some actual ambition and hunger in it. His actual debut Get Rich or Die Tryin' was a album perfect for him. Good hooks and beats for the most part. Do I view it as a classic like his fans? No. Not really. But it worked for the time. His follow ups well....yeah. All three of them have been far less than stellar and only seeming to get worse and worse. Now he's disappeared for five years aside from a few solid mixtapes I actually did enjoy so I can't say I had such low expectations for this album, but the end result? Well...
Hold On
Here let me rename this classic,
Ahem, I'm rich as fuck and and get pussy Part 48
Next...
Don't Worry About It feat. Yo Gotti
Oh thank God 50 found Yo Gotti for this album otherwise we'd be in total despair. But what is the track about? What aren't we supposed to worry about? According to the intro..his cars..jewelry and money..oh fuck it you already know the topic. Do the lyrics however make up for it? No not even remotely. I don't even remember Yo Gotti's part and I literally just got done hearing it again.
Animal Ambition
Now usually a title track serves as the goal of the album and this entry actually started off with 50 displaying his goals in mind and his actual ambition as the albums titled...then five seconds later it's back to hoes and getting blown. His voice doesn't even really flow in this one, its almost like he's rambling about what he wants to do tonight over a beat.
Pilot
I swear to God...If there's a single cockpit joke...I'm done. Hey...there's not! Wooo! So why is this called Pilot?
Oh...Cause he's fly as fuck...yeah. If only Big L was here to see this lyricism. He also talks about shooting up clubs or something i don't fucking care, but in 2014 i don't think guns and planes are a song theme to mix.
Smoke feat. Trey Songz
I am at total desperation when I want Trey Songz to save a album. But, I do mildly like this song. It's not Hypnotize or anything but it's not a bad track to move to. I mean 50 does the usual same with the lyrics but they're not as cringeworthy as the past few.
Evertytime I Come Around feat. Kidd Kidd
Who the FUCK is Kidd Kidd and why the fuck does he keep showing up in 50's projects. Even with his watered down G Unit reunion this dude pops up. Kidd Kidd the most unnecessary dude on the fucking hip hop world right now if not for Gudda Gudda. This is a little more subtle on 50's part instead of "yo Hoes...my dick...hoes" as usual but it's still not worth checking out.
Irregular Heartbeat feat. Jadakiss and Kidd Kidd
Holy shit Jada! A decent lyricist! oh and...Kidd Kidd's back...let's just settle this. Aint no one in history ever said "Yo! I hope Kidd Kidd pops up on this shit!" this bad enough without you. But regardless...this does switch the tone up decently. You might just want to end the track after Kiss. Alright entry.
Hustler
Zzzzzz....ZZZzzzzz...Huh what? oh you're a hustler, alright....lets move on
Twisted feat. Mr Probz
For a second my heart skipped and i thought Twista was on this album...that would've been cool. Never fear though Mr. Probz??? is on this baby and he has the angelic voice of a robot receiving a blowjob.
Winners Circle feat. Gourdan Banks
I'm not 100% if i spelled that guys name right but it's not of my concern..my concern is this opening...is possibly the worst shit i will hear for another six months.
ARREEEEE YOUUUUU REEAAADDDYYY TO WIIIIINNNNNNNN
Chase The Paper feat. Prodigy, Styles P, and Kidd Kidd
Prodigy? Styles P? Oh my god! Good MCs! This is like a God send and FUCK! KIDD KIDD IS BACK! Thank the Heavens though because they only start first so you can just skip to Prod and P. Someone must be up there looking out for us.
(Bonus) The Funeral
Normally I'd say fuck a bonus after this but god...this...is a good song. I'm in love. He told a story, he did something different! It's like, it's like just going through a Ja Rule album then having Marvin Gaye sing a mellody to you. It's what we needed, and what we deserved.
The Hightlights:
Chase the Paper
The Lowlights:
Really everything else but Pilot and Winner Circle top it.
The Gem:
The Funeral
Is it Worth a Purchase?
No! Fuck no! Stay away from this! There's also a bonus track with ScHoolboy Q but I can't hear anymore of this album, I refuse to look up anymore bonus tracks. I guess 50 had no faith either because every track is a single. I couldn't find one without a music video. Leave this album alone, in fact watch the Funeral video and leave it at that. Worst part is, this is a preview to Street King Immortal...his second album this year....I'll have to skip out on that classic...
Overall Grade: D-
Yo Fif, drop the Tiger on the cover and add this shit

Til next time...One Love Ya'll...
