Forever the lasting image of 2Pac's final project in his life time. In the time span that Don Killuminati
was written it seemed Pac's mental state and grip on reality had faded away.
With intense paranoia and a new found anger he released a fittingly
paranoid and dark finale LP in Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory. Recorded
in a short amount of time, does the follow up to All Eyez On Me live up to his name?
So for this review, Exit 2Pac, Enter Makaveli.
Bomb First (My Second Reply) feat. EDI Mean and Young Noble
I'm a bad boy killa, Jay-Z die too, looking out for Mobb Deep nigga when I find you
In a fierce opener, Pac takes diss shots at rival Mobb Deep and Jay-Z. Young Noble and E.D.I Mean
of the Tha Outlawz are also on this track, they do okay.
Hail Mary feat. Tha Outlawz
I Ain't a killa, but don't push me cause revenge is like the sweetest joy next to gettin' pussy
There's not much necessary to say about this track, it's a dark classic. Unlike his past work but he creates a great song out of it. The features also hold up.
Toss It Up feat. Danny Boy, K-Ci & Jo-Jo, and Aaron Hall
A strange follow up from a paranoid mood to one of gettin' laid and drinking until the rough ending
of Pac taking shots at Dre. He delivers some good hits at him, it's a strange addition but it doesn't mess the flow of the album up too bad. This fits All Eyez On Me far better. Some of the lines by the features though...
You Taste as fine as gravy
To Live and Die in L.A. feat. Val Young
Granted our host is initially from Harlem but his ode to LA feels heartfelt and genuine. Can't
argue with it.
Blasphemy
Now that's a trippy ass intro. Fitting the title it's Pac at his most blasphemous in the opening verse
then socially conscious in the next of the sins he sees on a daily basis and questioning his own fate. A return to form in the album's intent.
Mama Tell Me, Am I Wrong? Is God just another cop waitin' to beat my ass if i don't go pop?
Life Of An Outlaw feat. Tha Outlawz
I love the beat to this one especially. Detailing a dangerous life, another solid track.
Just Like Daddy feat. Tha Outlawz
In this one Pac sees a woman and abuses and neglects her in a way similar to her own father
stating she'll love him anyhow mistaking his abuse for love. An interesting concept that works.
Krazy feat. Bad Azz
Not one of the better tracks but it holds up decently. Bad Azz is also decent here, surprisingly considering
I've never seen this dude again aside from a fight with the Notorious T.W.A.T himself Ray J.
White Man'z World feat. Big D
Just a side note but I wonder if anyone ever brought it his attention that Pac did not need to misspell as much shit as possible. But a thought for another day. I put this over the last few songs so far. Another highlight in a political manner reminiscent of his earlier work but far grimmer and darker. A raw entry.
Me & My Girlfriend
My personal favorite, and no not that abomination Jay-Z did with Beyonce.
Here Pac's partner in crime and love is in actuality a hand gun. Implying the only thing he trusts in this world is a gun. Similar to Nas's I Gave You Power concept record. His voice provides a very dark unsettling tone. The beat is astounding with a great hook. Classic.
All I need in this life is sin...it's just me and my girlfriend.
Hold Ya Head feat. Tyrone Wrice
Great entry, you can hear passion and energy behind every lyric.
Against All Odds
Our final track is a crazy one. Taking shots at...Nas!?

But regardless...it's a great song it's just a shame he didn't live longer seeing as all signs pointed to a
reconciliation between the two giants. Still makes for an amazing finish
This be the realest shit i ever wrote...
The Highlights:
Hail Mary
Me & My Girlfriend
Bomb First
The Lowlight:
Toss It Up
The Gem:
Blasphemy
Is It Worth a Purchase?
By all means, The 7 Day Theory is a dark classic you should certainly give a listen to. It's overlooked by All Eyez on Me and Me Against the World but that shouldn't be the case. Feelin' strong A- to a light A on this baby.
Grade Overall: A

Until Next Time, One Love.
